William C. Brown, MD completed his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. Upon graduation, he did his general surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Brown then completed his urology training at the J. Bentley Squier Urologic Clinic at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University.
While at Columbia University, he did a year of research and fellowship in neurourology, urodynamics and female urology. During that year, he was responsible for all voiding dysfunction consults at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and The Neurological Institute of New York, Irving Medical Center. He also conducted and interpreted all urodynamic studies completed at the medical center.
Dr. Brown is board-certified in urology and has extensive experience in the treatment of kidney stone disease, enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction, female urology, incontinence, voiding dysfunction, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, pediatric issues, and urodynamic evaluations.
He offers a wide range of options for in-office procedures and testing such as cystoscopy, uroflow, urodynamics, prostate biopsy, and vasectomies. All procedures are done after a full explanation to decrease patient anxiety. He advocates an integrated approach. Supplements, lifestyle changes, and diet modifications can be incorporated into the treatment program for many disease states.
For men interested in benign prostate surgery, newer laser techniques are available for effective outpatient treatment. Also, kidney stones can be treated effectively with minimally invasive procedures.
